Business Checklist

Basic Information:

  • Business Name: What will the name of your LLC be?

  • State of Formation: In which state will you be forming your LLC? 

  • Registered Agent: Who will act as your registered agent (name and address)? 

  • Business Address: What is the physical address of your business operations? 

Owners (Members): 

  • Member Names: List the full legal names of all LLC members. 

  • Ownership Percentage: What is the percentage ownership stake of each member? 

Business Operations:

  • Business Activity: Briefly describe the primary business activities of your LLC. 

  • Management Structure: Will your LLC be member-managed or manager-managed? 

  • Fiscal Year: What will be the fiscal year for your LLC (e.g., calendar year)? 

Permits and Licenses:

  • Required Permits: Do you anticipate needing any specific business permits or licenses in your operating location? 

  • Tax Identification Number (EIN): Do you need to apply for an EIN with the IRS? 

Additional Considerations:

  • Operating Agreement: Do you plan to create a formal operating agreement outlining member rights and responsibilities? 

  • DBA (Doing Business As): Will you be operating under a different name than your LLC name (requires a DBA filing)? 

  • Employee Status: Do you plan to hire employees for your LLC?
